I mean... I don't know what the hype is about? Maybe I set my standards too high? I've been to Japan before and these portions are good amount (on Thursdays) but there is little to no fish in these rolls. The fried rice is bland. The tartar is VERY fishy and no other taste besides that. The rolls are maybe a 5/10 MAX. I wouldn't recommend coming here honestly.

Disappointing The beef in the bento box was previously cooked beef reheated, it was dry and bland. The cucumber salad was bland, the soy sauce requested to improve the taste was watered down with vinegar. The miso soup (no tofu no seaweed) was served in a plastic Bowl, something the Japanese would never do. see photos.

LOVED this Japanese restaurant! It was so delicious and was the closest in flavour we’ve found . The patio is a wonderful place to enjoy your meal and take in the afternoon sun. We enjoyed the gyoza, spicy tuna roll , yakitori chicken and the tempura bowl. With our dishes we got miso soup with cute carrot flowers in them. All the flavours reminded me of Japan and it was so lovely ! The owner is Japanese and has lived in Guatemala since the early 2000 I think. Hana is a great restaurant!

Amazing restaurant right in the heart of Panajachel. Service was top notch. Beautifully decorated interior. Menu has lots of choices. Food was cooked exceptionally well, flavors were awesome. Highly recommend this gem.
