   Hotel Isla Verde is a true hidden gem on Lake Atitlán. The views are stunning, the atmosphere is incredibly tranquil, and the staff made me feel like part of the family from day one. From chess games with Trevor to laughs with Lulu and Leigh, every interaction felt warm and genuine. When the internet went down, Sophia even let me use her personal hotspot so I could stay connected. That kind of care says everything. An amazing place run by wonderful people. I’m already looking forward to returning.

   Absolutely beautiful rooms and property!! They’ve built the rooms into the hillside so wonderfully; it feels like you’re in the jungle but only a minute walk from the water. The food was great and worth the convenience - the soup in particular was incredible! The WiFi in the rooms had broken when I first arrived but by the next day it was working well enough for video calls from anywhere on the property. Lots of space to enjoy the views as well, even from the hot tub or sauna. The hotel appears remote but you can get food at a number of restaurants and hotels along the water within a 5 minute walk, or trek up the the village! Would have loved to stay longer and would definitely come back next time. One caveat - there were the biggest spiders of my entire life in my room. I’m not squeamish and ChatGPT told me they were harmless so it became a fun story to share with friends, but others may want to take that into account ;)

   Went here for lunch today, so delicious and what a view! It was quiet and peaceful and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back! The quinoa bowl was DELICIOUS and the BLT sandwich too!

   Café Isla Verde was absolutely amazing. We didn’t stay at the hotel itself, but walked along the lake from our hostel two mornings in a row. The atmosphere at the cafe is serene and full of plants, including one that attracts humming birds! The woman, Audrey, who greeted and served us was wonderful and the food was delicious. I got the Guatemalan breakfast and the peace and love smoothie one day and the breakfast burrito another and thoroughly enjoyed them both! Would highly recommend coming here for breakfast especially if you are staying in Santa Cruz!!

   This review is for the restaurant only. We had two fantastic breakfasts here during a nearby stay. My favorite was the breakfast burrito. The view is in incredible and the service was great.
