I ordered the vegetarian tacos, and they were amazing! The tacos were generously filled with tofu, onions, bell peppers, and other veggies, all packed with flavor. They came out hot and super fast. Plus, the price was very reasonable. Great spot for a delicious and affordable meal!

The food was delicous. We got the birria tacos and the fajitas and it was really good, but the waitress sadly didn't smile once, so the vibe was a bit weird. Good prices, although the portions are very big, so maybe not the best if you're very hungry

Great vegetarian/vegan options, vegetarian fajitas came with tofu and SO much veg! Great portion sizes for even better prices. Location is a bit inconvenient but the food was worth it.

Make sure to ask for a receipt if you pay with quetzales. I was wrongly accused of stealing my meal because they couldn't remember me and I didn’t receive a receipt when I ordered at the front and paid before getting my meal. As for the food, it was decent, but the tacos weren’t the best--keep in mind that Guatemalans aren’t known for their tacos, haha. It’s fine if you’re just hungry, but the meat isn't the best quality. They also stir-fry it with onions and bell peppers. Nothing like a mexican taco. I had a horrible experience with the staff, who accused me of not paying even though I paid in cash right in front of them. One woman took my order and money on the iPad and another handed me my change. I placed my order at the front, paid for my food, and then sat down while my meal was brought to my table. I stayed there for about an hour. When I left, one of the women chased after me and claimed I hadn’t paid. I initially insisted that I did pay and kept walking. I returned to clarify things, but the woman who took my order and the one who gave me my change both claimed they had never seen me and said I hadn’t paid. That’s outrageous! I don’t steal, and I certainly didn't spend thousands of dollars to visit this country to steal a meal that cost Q25 which is about $3 in the U.S. I have traveled extensively throughout Guatemala, from Tikal to Antigua to the southern beaches of Sipacate, and I have never experienced such treatment or been accused of theft. I asked them to review the cameras, but I was told they didn’t have any. I even requested that they call the police about the alleged theft, but they refused. They should consider installing cameras to investigate such incidents. I will never come here again! I placed my order after 3 PM and before 3:09 PM, as shown by the timestamps on the photos I took. If they were wise, they’d review transactions. So, be careful and don’t hangout too long, or you might be accused of stealing.

This is the exact local family run spot you’re looking for. I love mexican food, and these are some of the best tacos and gringas I’ve had across Latin America. Ordered the Tacombinado, Gringas mixta and some nachos with cheese, salsa and guacamole to start with. Each and every one was delicious. Lots of different salsas and condiments to choose from too. If we were staying longer in Guatemala, this would be our regular lunch/dinner spot - highly recommend.
