Casa del Mundo was absolutely incredible. The views are even more stunning than the pictures -- every corner of the hotel feels like a postcard overlooking Lake Atitlán. The property is beautifully designed and built into the hillside, which makes the scenery feel truly magical. The service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were warm, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect during our stay. You can really feel the care they put into the experience.

La Casa del Mundo is a beautiful property located on the north side of Lake Atitlán. It’s truly a paradise garden on the coast, and I highly recommend stopping by for a day visit if you don’t have the chance to stay overnight. The boat taxis stop right at the docks of the property, or you can also get there on foot from the nearby town of Jaibalito. All the people working here are very nice and friendly. Jared at the reception welcomed me and invited me to enjoy breakfast on the upper terrace of the restaurant. If you visit with a day pass, you can use the property’s facilities. The place has lots of hidden balconies with hammocks and chairs, access to the lake shore, kayak rentals, and a restaurant where you can have lunch overlooking the lake with gorgeous scenery. I will definitely return!

The location and establishment is stunning and beautiful without a doubt. The service is good as well. I wish getting through the ferry wasn't such a nightmare. For such a popular destination, the hotel should really invest in their own boat. Getting here from town is a headache. I also found the restaurant quite mediocre. The food was good, but the reviews had overhyped it a little bit. The massage was excellent.

Incredibly beautiful place to visit. Love all the plants, the architecture, and the design. Everyone is kind and welcoming. Was here for lunch and the food was delicious! I had sopa de pollo and Cacao del Mundo. My boyfriend had the sesame fish with rice and salad. No complaints. Spending a few hours here was the perfect amount of time! I will mention they don’t take credit cards only cash or bank to bank transfers like Zelle or Venmo. So happy with our visit and everyone’s kindness

Bistro Indigo in Jaibalito offers Persian cuisine in a stunning lakeside setting with excellent breakfast options like shakshuka and a warm, dog-friendly atmosphere. While breakfast is consistently praised, dinner offerings sometimes disappoint on flavor, making this best suited for the morning meal with panoramic lake and volcano views.
Posada Jaibalito, run by Hans, serves honest homemade cooking with German and local Guatemalan dishes prepared from quality ingredients in a storied, bohemian setting. The place has strong character and community spirit, though first time visitors may find the unconventional atmosphere and eccentric clientele initially disarming.
Cafe El Escondido in Jaibalito is a hidden gem serving authentic Guatemalan cuisine with generous portions at remarkably low prices in a family-run setting. The rooftop terrace offers pleasant lake views and the staff are genuinely warm, making it an excellent value destination despite the tucked away location requiring local knowledge.
