La paz is such a sanctuary in the middle of san marcos, and I personally love the food. Fresh, organic, vegetarian, simple and tasty. I love the burrito, it’s simple but very filling and I feel great after I eat it! The fresh mint drink they have is amazing too. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to eat, this is the place!

La Paz is one of those rare places that feels like a living, breathing sanctuary. Perfectly located in the heart of San Marcos, it’s just a short walk from the ferry dock and near the beautiful nature reserve with a cliff jump that quickly became part of my daily rhythm. The property itself is stunning--lush, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed. The on-site restaurant serves vibrant, healthy food straight from their organic garden. I was especially impressed by the housemade seitan and roasted pumpkin seed rolls--everything feels crafted with love and intention. The dorm is spacious, spotless, and offers plenty of room to spread out, which made it easy to relax and feel at home. Yoga classes are held right on the property and are consistently high quality. I also took full advantage of the Temazcal (sweat lodge), which is powerful, well-built, and deeply healing--I went six times and each experience was incredible. One of the most meaningful parts of my stay was the sense of connection. I had a custom double flute made by Max, a true visionary artisan, and I also got to know the owner, Benjamin, whose kindness, presence, and passion infuse the entire space with a special energy. La Paz isn’t just a place to stay--it’s an experience that stays with you. I’m deeply grateful for my time here and can’t recommend it highly enough.

Stayed here one night and was blown away by the beautiful environment. Hosts daily activities. Sauna, yoga room, sound healing, etc. Great value for all of the amenities. Kind, simple, breathtaking grounds. Only wish I had a longer stay.

This is a gorgeous accommodation center to the city of San Marcos. Unfortunately, the service is poor. First of all when we arrived there was a dead rat in our room. Secondly, when I asked for an extra blanket that I needed, they told me that there were none available at the hour that I asked, which was about 8:30 PM on a weekday. On the morning that I was leaving, there was no hot water for me to be able to take a shower before getting on my plane. Very unfortunate for such a special place surrounded by local trees, plants with an overall pleasant setting.

Great atmosphere and food. Best place to go for daily yoga without getting trapped by some yoga retreat places to charge you insane price. Benjamin, the owner of La Paz, is very charming 😍 you would enjoy having a great conversation with him.
