Can't speak to the quality of the rooms as we went to spend half a day at Palopó 6.8 Restaurant and at their spa. The staff from the gate, to reception, to the restaurant to the spa were all very kind and attentive. They were also very accommodating in helping us to bump our reservation back by 30 minutes since a road closure made us run a little late. The spa was definitely worth every penny - we did a couples 60 minute relaxing massage and I think we both walked away very happy. They have a wonderful dressing room / shower so that you can wash all the oil off before getting back into your clothes. The chilaquiles at the restaurant were very good as well - since we were only there for breakfast I can'y really comment on desserts etc since we ate very little compared to what we might normally order at lunch / dinner.

Stunning resort with world-class views! • Arrival: Easy helicopter transfer from Antigua directly to the property (expensive, but worth it) • Service: 10/10. Huge shoutout to Juan Carlos for being a great host. Fausto was super helpful and attentive. The service you pay for! • Activities: Plenty of free options (kayaks/SUP) and cool paid experiences like the shaman ceremony and tortilla making. Don't miss the chicken coop! • Spa: Great value, huge menu, and a sauna with a view. • Food: Two on-site restaurants. Expect resort pricing, but the quality is good. Note: Check the event calendar before booking, weddings at the Kinnik restaurant can be loud and may limit dining options.

I highly recommend Casa Pólopo for your stay at Lake Atitlan. The service was top notch, they were very attentive to the requests we had. The villa was absolutely stunning, panoramic views from 2 balconies, a private spiral staircase to the infinity pool and gorgeous decor. We really enjoyed the gardens in bloom. The rooms were cleaned every day. Even though it was a bit of a climb up to the villa, they give you daily rides up for convenience. I had to leave my luggage and iPhone at the front desk while we visited the nearby town and everything was safe and secure when I got back. You will not regret your stay, it was the most beautiful part of our journey to Guatemala.

Love the suite with the lake view! The bathroom also has a floor to ceiling window of the lake so you can take a bath and see the lake. I loved the bath ritual they come and prepare your bath. I had it so many times! Their massage therapist was also amazing and knows how to use just the right pressure! You get private access to the lake as well! Highly highly recommend!! I’d come back for sure!!

A beautiful old hotel in a beautiful area - feels slightly run down rather than 'chateau'. Missing finer details in smaller rooms ie no make up mirror? (we upgraded). Service and people are lovely but we struggled with the food in main restaurant. Not very tasty, not very modern, and local food rather dreary. We did mention this but staff not trained to accept criticism and just thanked us for our comments
